Role overview
This Systems Engineer position is based in Chantilly, VA. The role centers on supporting government projects by designing, building, and maintaining scalable technology solutions using modern cloud services and frameworks.
What you will do
- Design and implement Java microservices using C#, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, and gRPC.
- Develop scalable cloud-based services on AWS, including SQS, SNS, Lambda, SWF/Step Functions, and cloud-native frameworks.
- Join architecture and design reviews, multi-module planning, and solution development discussions.
- Research, prototype, and analyze feasibility for new features and modernization efforts.
- Design and enhance PostgreSQL-backed data services and schemas.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Maven, Git, and GitLab.
- Containerize and deploy applications using EKS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Create and run unit, integration, and system tests with JUnit 5; support release and beta testing.
- Troubleshoot performance, reliability, and integration issues across the technology stack.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and clients on requirements, demonstrations, installations, and solution alignment.
- Document APIs, architecture diagrams, deployment processes, and runbooks.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and share knowledge with team members.
- Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
