Role Overview
The Principal Telemetry & Instrumentation Architect will shape the architectural design, development, and ongoing support of Anduril’s test range infrastructure and instrumentation systems. This position calls for strong systems engineering skills, hands-on technical expertise, and a deep understanding of complex testing environments. The architect will set the framework for integrating advanced sensors, data acquisition systems, and telemetry solutions, ensuring reliable operation of key test assets.
Main Responsibilities

Architectural Design & Development
- Lead the design, development, and improvement of comprehensive instrumentation systems and related range infrastructure for sophisticated test and evaluation setups.
- Define system requirements, specifications, and interface control documents (ICDs) for both new and upgraded range capabilities.
- Develop long-term strategies for architecture, technology adoption, and upgrade paths to maintain advanced range capabilities.

Instrumentation Systems Engineering
- Select, integrate, and validate instrumentation technologies such as telemetry (RF/Optical), radar, optics (including high-speed cameras, IR, EO), GPS/PNT, environmental sensors, and acoustic arrays.
- Design and implement data acquisition (DAQ), processing, storage, and analysis pipelines to support both real-time and post-test data needs.
- Establish and oversee calibration protocols to ensure accuracy and traceability of all instrumentation.

Range Infrastructure Development
- Design and supervise the implementation of essential range infrastructure components.
