About the job
In order to strengthen the Mechanical Studies team of our client, we are seeking a Mechanical Calculation Engineer to engage in highly technical mechanical studies within a nuclear environment.
This role involves supporting the study teams in performing mechanical calculations, justifying structures, and contributing to the design of welded assemblies (such as chassis, supports, anchors...), while adhering to the technical, regulatory, and safety requirements set by the end client.
The position is situated in a demanding environment focused on mechanical sizing, seismic resistance, and justification of equipment and structures subjected to stringent normative constraints.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take charge of the understanding, analysis, and execution of assigned mechanical studies.
- Analyze client needs and integrate associated technical and safety requirements.
- Identify and utilize necessary input data for study processing.
- Participate in the design of mechanical structures including:
- chassis
- supports
- welded structures
- anchors
- Provide technical support to designers for defining and optimizing structures.
- Respond to technical inquiries from the end client regarding mechanical studies.
- Read, analyze, and leverage technical plans.
- Perform sizing of assemblies including:
- structures
- bolted joints
- civil engineering anchors
- Conduct mechanical calculations using:
- analytical methods
- finite element analysis (FEA)
- Execute modeling, simulations, and post-processing of stresses.
- Perform seismic resistance calculations for equipment and structures including:
- electrical equipment
- supports
- anchors
- piping
- Verify compliance of studies according to applicable standards (Eurocodes / RCC-M).
- Draft calculation notes (NDC).
- Conduct technical reviews of calculation notes.
- Ensure a reasoned and traceable control of notes as an AIP when required.
