Job DescriptionThe Launch Operations Technician is pivotal in ensuring the safe and efficient launch of stratospheric balloons. This role encompasses pre-launch and post-launch activities, including meticulous documentation of records and processes, as well as the retrieval of flight equipment and hardware.Key Responsibilities· Participate in every facet of the balloon Launch/Recovery/Command and Control Process.· Conduct regular maintenance of ground support equipment and vehicles.· Oversee work records, vehicle maintenance and repair logs, inspection forms, and checklists.· Engage in tasks beyond the primary responsibilities as directed by management.· Travel to remote locations for up to 8 weeks, both domestically and internationally.· Be prepared for overnight and off-shift work to support operational readiness. Qualifications· Associate’s degree or equivalent mechanical or avionics experience.· Demonstrated proficiency in UAS operational environments, with a minimum of 100 hours of documented flight or console operational time.· Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing operational needs.
