The Bezos Earth Fund is hiring a Lead for Assessment and Impact Analytics in Washington, D. C. This technical leader will work at the intersection of conservation and decarbonization, providing analytical support to grantmaking teams. The role centers on applying rigorous analysis to help maximize the impact of a diverse grant portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with grant leads to assess the impact of grant portfolios and strategies, with particular attention to greenhouse gas emissions reductions and outcomes for nature.
- Design and conduct technoeconomic assessments of climate and nature interventions, evaluating technology readiness, performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Integrate engineering, economic, and environmental analyses to inform decisions across sectors such as energy, industry, and land use.
- Offer insights into technology-to-market pathways, identifying barriers, enablers, and key points for scaling innovation.
- Analyze risks, uncertainties, and opportunities related to emerging technologies and interventions.
- Develop and refine analytical tools, methods, and datasets (including standardized scenarios) for consistent application across the Earth Fund’s work.
- Support the adoption of analytical approaches in decision-making, including scenario analysis, energy modeling, economic modeling, and land use modeling.
- Gather and synthesize external datasets into actionable data products for decision-making.
- Provide or commission tailored analytical outputs to inform staff on strategically important topics.
- Stay informed about new developments in climate and nature strategies to continually strengthen the Fund’s impact.
