The Building Engineer I plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of essential building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical frameworks. This position focuses on executing routine maintenance tasks, promptly addressing tenant requests, and ensuring compliance with safety standards under the mentorship of senior engineers from Corporate Advisory & Solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems; promptly address service requests such as temperature complaints, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
- Diagnose minor equipment malfunctions and escalate complex issues as necessary.
- Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required to maintain system efficiency.
- Keep precise records of inspections, equipment performance, and maintenance activities.
- Engage with tenants, contractors, and property managers to ensure smooth operations and effective resolution of tenant concerns.
- Assist in preventive maintenance tasks and oversee contractor work.
- Perform property inspections to identify and rectify deficiencies.
- Monitor equipment readings and ensure all systems operate within established standards.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and utilize appropriate PPE; ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFC, NFPA regulations; report safety hazards and participate in safety inspections.
- Provide mentorship to junior technicians as required.
- Maintain professional communication with all stakeholders, including tenants, vendors, and team members, ensuring they are kept informed.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance technical capabilities and participate in professional development opportunities aimed at advancing into more senior roles.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
