Required Qualifications:Proven success in a scientific or engineering discipline, highlighted by exceptional projects and problem-solving skills. Experience in software development, with a strong focus on embedded systems. Preferred Qualifications:Embedded Software Development:At least 2 years of experience with embedded systems. Familiarity with standard communication protocols such as SPI, UART, and I2C. Knowledge of advanced protocols including PCIe, MIPI CSI/DSI, USB, and 802.3.Proficiency in embedded programming languages such as C, C++, or Rust. Experience with embedded toolchains and workflows.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Firmware Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to design and implement new embedded systems while optimizing existing ones. Your duties will include:

  • Creating and enhancing embedded software for robotic surgical applications.
  • Refining our codebase and deprecating outdated embedded software when necessary.
  • Conducting thorough testing and validation of software to ensure safety and reliability.
  • Participating in peer code reviews to maintain a high quality of work.
  • Developing drivers and applications to enhance our robotics capabilities.
  • Defining hardware and software requirements as we progress towards future hardware platforms.
  • Collaborating with team members to share insights and updates on your work.
