Role Overview: Front End Platform Developer
This role sits within the Frontend Platform team. The focus is on building and maintaining core components that enable product teams across Borrowell to move faster and more securely. Unlike a typical product engineering role, this position influences the entire engineering organization. Responsibilities include owning the architecture for the universal codebase (Web and Mobile), managing Expo and Monorepo infrastructure, and creating tools that help product teams iterate efficiently.
Expect frequent collaboration with Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and QA teams. Since many Borrowell members prefer mobile, work in this role has a direct and lasting impact on helping people achieve financial stability.
What to Expect in Your First Year
- Optimize the Monorepo setup to improve code sharing between React (Web) and React Native (Mobile), cutting down on duplication and friction.
- Serve as a technical consultant to product teams, helping establish best practices and supporting their work.
