About the job
WHO WE ARE
At Proxima Fusion, our mission is to revolutionize the future of sustainable energy. Our innovative approach, built around the state-of-the-art W7-X stellarator and the latest technological advancements, sets the stage for commercially viable fusion power plants.
Our pioneering work in stellarator optimization, driven by advanced computation and machine learning, is pushing the boundaries of fusion technology. We are unlocking new high-performance design possibilities through the use of high-temperature superconducting magnets.
To seize this monumental opportunity, we are assembling a team of exceptionally dedicated and passionate individuals who are committed to driving extraordinary advancements, radically transforming technology for a sustainable future.
WHY JOIN PROXIMA FUSION?
Tackle some of the most complex technological challenges to deliver abundant, safe, and clean energy to the world.
Collaborate with an extraordinary group of talented and driven professionals.
Make meaningful contributions through your work and enjoy an impactful journey.
Demonstrate that remarkable achievements are possible in Europe by harnessing the best talent.
YOUR IMPACT
You will play a crucial role in developing the civil and structural framework of Alpha, Proxima Fusion’s first fusion demonstrator, and lay the groundwork for scaling towards Stellaris, our groundbreaking fusion power plant. You will lead integration reviews focused on constructability, translate intricate physics and machine specifications into clear building interfaces, and ensure that designs from both internal teams and external partners are consistent, buildable, and safe.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Conduct cross-disciplinary reviews from a construction delivery perspective, addressing structural and building interfaces across Alpha and informing initial Stellaris assumptions.
Establish civil and structural interface envelopes, load paths, tolerances, access strategies, and penetrations in collaboration with machine and engineering teams.
Convert early technical and physics-driven requirements into building-ready, constructability-focused inputs for external engineering partners.
Proactively identify and resolve conflicts early (routing, structure–machine clashes, long-lead constraints) utilizing digital models and comprehensive documentation.
