ABOUT THE ROLE
This intermediate-level role will be an integral part of our dynamic, multi-disciplinary design team. You will collaborate closely with design and technical leadership, contributing significantly to project teams. Under the direct supervision of designated project leaders, your primary responsibilities will include:
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead project goal development through all phases, including Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration, guided by a Senior Interior Designer.
- Assess client needs while effectively documenting design objectives and spatial requirements.
- Research, evaluate, and coordinate furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) throughout all phases of the interior design process.
- Ensure design work adheres to standards and code compliance, coordinating with the team and other disciplines, including architecture, engineering, and consultants.
- Develop interior space designs, including floor plans, patterns, elevations, details, and finishes.
- Independently select and evaluate materials, consulting with vendors as necessary.
- Create drawings that meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Assist in project planning and work plan/budget follow-through.
- Lead and assist in client meetings as required.
- Mentor and supervise junior interior design staff.
- Facilitate 'lessons learned' sessions.
- Maintain adherence to CannonDesign drawing standards.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals, shop drawings, and punch list activities. Site visits may necessitate physical walkthroughs of sites.
- Actively promote and participate in design leadership within the practice.
- Assist in marketing efforts as requested.
- Perform other duties as required.
