The beauty of this Intermediate Safety Officer role lies in the autonomy to plan your time and work. You will experience a variety of tasks across different companies and sectors.

Your Day as an Intermediate Safety Officer:

You ensure a secure working environment.

You will develop Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E) documents, implement action plans, or supervise confined space and fire watch teams during plant shutdowns. No two days will be the same.

As an Intermediate Safety Officer, you will assist and advise our clients on creating a safe workplace for every employee.

Your contributions will include:

  • A customized proposal. Each request requires a tailored approach. You will analyze the nature of the work, the workforce size, the traffic on-site, and the associated risks. You will then return to the office to create a bespoke proposal.

  • A comprehensive risk assessment. Conducting site tours and discussions with staff and management. You will also assess whether work processes and environments meet safety standards. Your role includes mapping risks and inspecting compliance with safety policies. Additionally, you will analyze near-misses and accidents to clarify safety risks;

  • A clear advisory strategy. You will document your insights in a health and safety plan, RI&E, or improvement proposal. The Dutch Working Conditions Act will guide your work. You will collaborate with clients to develop actionable, practical advice, determining necessary actions, priorities, and required time and budget. If the plan requires validation by a certified occupational health expert, you will arrange that;

  • Practical support. Implementing measures, executing action plans, or overseeing confined space and fire watch operations: you are eager to get your hands dirty.

In your role as a Safety Officer, you will work on a consultancy basis for various clients, each presenting different challenges. The duration of assignments can vary widely, from a few days to over a year.
