Role overview
This is a full-time, onsite Dimensional Inspector position based at the Tigard fabrication shop. The standard workweek is 40 hours, with overtime available depending on project demands. The role operates under a union collective bargaining agreement and offers steady assignments in a well-established facility.
What you will do
- Inspect structural steel components in the fabrication shop
- Verify base metal types, grades, and dimensions before welding begins
- Assess joint fit-up, alignment, and member positioning prior to fabrication
- Check bolt hole dimensions, spacing, edge distances, and slot geometry against shop drawings
- Measure camber, sweep, plumbness, and overall geometry to confirm dimensional accuracy
- Confirm weld joint preparations meet WPS requirements, including bevel angles and root openings
- Ensure stiffeners, clip angles, and other components comply with project specifications
