Qualifications

Must be a U. S. citizen. Possess a valid driver's license. Ability to carry and utilize a firearm, with mandatory proficiency requirements. At least 21 years old at the time of application and under 40 years old at the time of referral. Exceptions may apply for those with current or prior federal law enforcement service that qualifies under special retirement provisions, as age is critical for this role. Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance throughout your career. Uncorrected visual acuity must be no worse than 20/100 binocular; corrected acuity must be 20/20 or better in each eye. Hearing loss must not exceed 25 decibels in either ear, measured at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz. Must pass a drug test prior to appointment and comply with random drug testing thereafter. Complete 13 weeks of intensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, followed by 18 weeks of specialized training at the James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Sign a mobility agreement agreeing to accept assignments anywhere in the U. S. and overseas. Certify registration with the Selective Service, if applicable.
