This remote position is open to candidates based in Lithuania. As a QA Automation Engineer (Mobile/Android), the role centers on automation for mobile platforms, with a strong emphasis on Android. The work supports products like HotspotShield, Betternet, and UltraAV, all part of Point Wild’s global security offerings. The team values agility and outcome-focused work, giving engineers the autonomy to develop effective solutions as the company grows.
Main responsibilities
- Design and enhance the Android automation framework (Espresso/Kakao-Cup) to support a growing portfolio of security products.
- Create advanced testing strategies for VPN-specific scenarios, including network-dependent flows and unstable or changing connection states.
- Collaborate with developers and QA colleagues to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, delivering clear and actionable bug reports.
- Advocate for QA best practices and contribute to the overall QA strategy.
- Research and evaluate new testing tools and methodologies to improve the QA process.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience automating UI tests for Android applications developed in Kotlin.
- Proficiency with Espresso and Kakao-Cup, including testing for both Jetpack Compose and legacy XML-based screens.
- Experience with Robolectric and Mockito for test infrastructure and mocking dependencies.
- Ability to build and maintain pipelines in CircleCI and write Bash/sh scripts for automation and processing results.
- Knowledge of sharding and parallelizing tests using advanced techniques.
