We are currently searching for a dedicated and experienced Safety Coordinator (Construction) to join our expanding team in Manassas, Virginia, working on a significant semiconductor manufacturing construction project. The ideal candidate will possess extensive EHS Safety experience specifically within the Semiconductor Construction sector.
The successful applicant will be self-driven, technically adept, exceptionally organized, and possess excellent communication skills. A history of progressively increasing responsibilities is crucial for this role. This position will collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and on-site operations teams to identify and mitigate safety risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical health and safety professional in the field, providing hands-on oversight during construction and maintenance operations.
- Assist Capital Project and Facilities Project Management teams in addressing health and safety concerns throughout all project phases, including design, planning, and execution.
- Perform routine site inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards and verify the implementation of necessary safety controls.
- Foster strong partnerships with project teams and contractor safety representatives to enhance the overall safety culture on-site.
- Lead and contribute to pre-construction planning sessions with contractors to review safety plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and ensure proactive risk mitigation efforts.
- Evaluate and audit contractors' JHAs, Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs), and daily pre-task planning to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and client requirements.
- Enforce adherence to safety policies and procedures in alignment with client, contractor, and regulatory standards.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and conduct audits to ensure ongoing compliance and foster continual improvement.
- Respond to incidents, conduct detailed investigations, and prepare comprehensive reports for clients, including witness statements and lessons learned documentation.
- Maintain thorough safety documentation and recordkeeping, encompassing incidents, near misses, first aid, and production interruptions.
- Analyze safety metrics and trends, generating reports to inform data-driven decision-making.
