As the Manager of Machine Learning & Data Science at Cohere Health, you will be pivotal in enhancing and expanding our AI capabilities in India. You will lead a dynamic team of machine learning engineers and data scientists dedicated to the development and implementation of models that streamline and enhance complex clinical and administrative workflows.
This team oversees the entire lifecycle of applied machine learning and data science—from identifying problems and conducting experiments to deploying models in production and optimizing performance. You will work with both structured and unstructured healthcare data to extract insights and fuel intelligent systems that enhance prior authorization processes and broader clinical decision-making.
As a player-coach, you will blend hands-on technical contributions with leadership, establishing best practices, mentoring team members, and driving impactful solutions in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Clinical, and Analytics stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performance team of machine learning engineers and data scientists, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Actively contribute across the machine learning and data science lifecycle, including data exploration, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and deployment.
- Design, develop, and implement machine learning models for retrieval, classification, and generative tasks across both structured and unstructured data.
- Convert complex business and clinical challenges into scalable machine learning and data science solutions.
- Establish and maintain best practices for experimentation, model validation, performance monitoring, and reproducibility.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Clinical, and Analytics teams to ensure alignment of solutions with business objectives.
- Guide the creation of scalable data science and machine learning systems, including data preprocessing pipelines and production workflows.
- Monitor model performance, identify opportunities for enhancement, and spearhead continuous iteration and optimization.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts, methodologies, and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to the recruitment, onboarding, and coaching of team members in India.
