Your Role:
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the production process of in-house capacitors. This unique opportunity allows you to work collaboratively with teams across Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, and Test Operations. Your contributions will directly impact the commissioning timeline for Helion’s inaugural power plant and be instrumental in our transition to generator mass-manufacturing. This position is based onsite and reports directly to the Director of Capacitor Manufacturing at our Everett, WA facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement rate-based assembly processes with assistance from Production and Engineering.
Lead interdisciplinary projects aimed at enhancing the rate and throughput of the capacitor production line (including floor layout, tooling, build cells, and large-scale equipment).
Contribute to the development of new business processes such as non-conformance management, process control, process safety, and asset maintenance to support production growth and establish a foundation for high-volume manufacturing.
Analyze data (labor hours, cycle times, and fallout) to identify production bottlenecks and propose solutions (design changes, process modifications, equipment upgrades, and automation).
Identify high-return capabilities, including capital equipment and software enhancements that improve manufacturing processes, collaborating with Production, Finance, Operations, and Facilities teams.
Work in collaboration on the development of future processes while simultaneously supporting and enabling higher output on current manufacturing lines.
