POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting all manufacturing engineering activities at our Wausaukee site. Your efforts will contribute to enhancing production metrics, advancing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives, improving product quality, and driving Lean manufacturing strategies. You will also provide hands-on technical support directly to our production teams. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Troubleshoot processes and equipment issues to provide technical support to production.
  2. Contribute to projects aimed at improving production indices, HSE initiatives, and product quality.
  3. Collaborate with Lean resources, maintenance, production, and quality teams to meet targets.
  4. Engage with suppliers regarding equipment and quality issues.
  5. Work collaboratively as a team member to ensure the achievement of goals and address any necessary remedial actions.
  6. Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, value stream mapping, and set-up reduction.
  7. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  8. Stay informed about industry trends and technologies to enhance manufacturing processes.
  9. Act as a liaison between engineering and the production shop floor.
  10. Communicate customer change notices to the shop floor and provide feedback on discrepancies.
  11. Perform minor fixture adjustments, layup of parts for first article inspection (FAI), and trimming tasks.
  12. Utilize hand measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers for accurate measurements.
  13. Complete additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience.
  • Post-secondary education preferred, with eligibility for CET or P. Eng designation.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience with 3D modeling is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with measurement tools.
  • Willingness to travel less than 10% of the time.
