Position Title: Network Operations Technician (OSP Technician)
Position Summary
As a crucial member of our team, the Network Operations Technician (OSP Technician) is responsible for the support and maintenance of Small Cell DAS Networks, which serve the largest wireless carriers in the nation. Year-round duties include responding to outages and impairments, executing necessary repairs, and conducting annual preventative maintenance inspections on remote DAS and host-related equipment. The role also involves various administrative tasks, such as uploading documents and photos, utilizing graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and many web-based tools. A strong emphasis on safe work practices, integrity, quality, and attention to detail is essential for the successful completion of all tasks.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct all activities ensuring the safety of yourself, your team, customers, and the public.
- Respond promptly to network outages, impairments, and emergencies.
- Thoroughly and accurately complete all annual preventative maintenance inspections according to company standards.
- Operate and understand RF and fiber-related test equipment, including PIM analyzers, antenna analyzers, RF power meters, spectrum analyzers, OTDRs, fusion splicers, and optic power meters.
- Utilize PCs or similar devices to access DAS networks and complete assigned administrative tasks.
- Collaborate efficiently with cross-functional departments and peers.
- Act as the first line of acceptance for all new and modified networks using the Network Handoff Process.
- Ensure prompt receipt and review of closeout packages and timely completion of new construction preventative maintenance to guarantee quality builds.
