About the job

Job Summary

The Operations Partner plays a pivotal logistical role crucial to Bird's operations in Edmonton. You will oversee the logistics of our local fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, ensuring they are charged, safe, and strategically positioned to fulfill the community's transportation requirements.

We seek dynamic, entrepreneurial individuals or logistics firms eager to make an immediate impact. Whether you're a solo operator with a single vehicle or a fleet owner capable of deploying multiple drivers, this partnership can be scaled according to your capabilities.

You will have the autonomy to determine your operational approach:

  • Maximize earnings by securing your own space (warehouse/facility) to charge vehicles overnight.
  • Enhance operational efficiency by simply retrieving and transporting vehicles to our central warehouse.

This pay-per-task role ties compensation directly to productivity. With an estimated daily volume exceeding 1,000 vehicles, the earning potential averages over $30 per hour, with opportunities for increased earnings based on efficiency and performance.

Important Details About the Role:

  • This is an independent contractor position, not an employee role.
  • You are responsible for your own tools, equipment, and any associated expenses needed to perform your duties.
  • As an independent contractor, you will manage your own schedule and workload to meet Bird's operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Fleet Transportation: Use your vehicle(s) or fleet to collect, deploy, relocate, and retrieve e-scooters and e-bikes across Edmonton on a daily basis.
  • Task-Based Operations (Choose your model):
    • Retrieve & Charge (Highest Margin): Collect vehicles, charge them at your own secured facility, and deploy them the following morning.
    • Retrieve & Drop-off: Collect vehicles and transport them to the local Bird warehouse for charging.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the complete operation of your assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high-demand areas.
  • Maintenance & Quality: Conduct light field checks to ensure vehicles are safe and environmentally friendly.
  • Field Execution: Solve problems in real-time to tackle obstacles, prioritize tasks, and navigate local geography efficiently.
