Preferred Qualifications
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in back-end RDBMS, particularly with Oracle and DB2, focusing on data modeling and database design.
• Over 2 years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of ETL projects using IBM Datastage (version 8.5 or later).
• Proficient in the software development life cycle with at least 2 years of experience.
• A strong background in data warehousing (DW) and business intelligence (BI) technologies and tools is essential.
• Experience through all phases of project life cycle activities related to DW/BI development and maintenance, with a minimum of 2 years.
• At least 2 years spent in design and architecture reviews.
• Familiarity with IBM Datastage architecture, including stages and transformations, ETL flow design, and advanced SQL queries.
• Proven skills in data loading techniques using Datastage.
• Development of Datastage Parallel Extender jobs utilizing various stages such as Aggregator, Join, Merge, Lookup, External Filter, and more.
• Proficient with Datastage Director for job execution and monitoring.
• Experience in creating Datastage sequences for batch job execution.
• Knowledge of best practices in Datastage, performance enhancements, and implementing Change Data Capture (CDC) and User Defined Functions (UDFs).
• Understanding of Unix/Linux systems, file systems, and shell scripting.
• Strong familiarity with scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control-M, and Tivoli.
• Solid knowledge of mainframe file structures alongside RDBMS.
• Expertise in determining strategic technical direction and system architecture for various initiatives.
• A hands-on development approach, with a readiness to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
• Extensive experience in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Proficient with database development tools including Oracle and Toad.
• Good understanding of partitioning, indexing techniques, bitmap indexes, triggers, and materialized views.
• Experience in query tuning and analyzing execution plans.
• Background in the financial domain is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment with strong client interfacing skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and a desire to operate in a global delivery context.
This position may require extended periods of sitting and working at a computer. Strong communication skills are essential, whether by phone, email, or face-to-face interactions. Travel may be necessary based on job requirements.
