Role overview
This OTR Owner Operator - Tanker Driver position focuses on long-haul tanker driving. Trips often require being away from home for five or more days at a time. Drivers handle both hazardous and non-hazardous liquid loads and play a key role in maintaining safety and reliability on the road.
What you will do
- Transport chemical and petroleum liquids in tank trailers, following DOT and Hazmat regulations.
- Keep equipment in top condition and meet all inspection standards for long-haul operations.
- Handle loading and unloading using best practices for ISO/Flexi-Bag or tanker operations at shipping and delivery points.
- Maintain accurate logs, submit required paperwork, and comply with all regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver professional customer service at every stop and represent Altom Transport as a partner.
- Oversee business operations, including fuel purchases, trip planning, and scheduling to maximize revenue.
- Meet mileage or hour targets to ensure steady work and support company operations.
- Remain available for dispatch as needed, including nights and weekends.
