About the job

The Project Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of projects classified within the C0 to C2 risk categories. This position requires collaboration with operations teams to enhance understanding of project financial performance while effectively managing commercial and financial risks.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of contracts and the implications for revenue recognition, offering financial support throughout the bid, setup, execution, and closeout phases of the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Project Delivery Teams, and Senior Operations Management.
  • Engage in project review preparation, execution, and follow-up.
  • Provide support for project commercial activities and bids.
  • Monitor project performance and key indicators.
  • Assist the business in comprehending project performance metrics.
  • Analyze revenue to ensure adherence to proper revenue recognition methodologies.
  • Understand the commercial and billing prerequisites of projects, including complex issues.
  • Guide operations teams on DoA approval requirements when operating at risk.
  • Oversee month-end close activities, including project revenue adjustments, WIP, and loss provision analysis.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting standards across all projects and support operational teams in understanding documentation requirements for revenue recognition and SOX compliance.
  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as needed.
