Job Description
As a Project Civil Engineer specializing in Site Design at Olsson, you'll engage in multidisciplinary design services across various land development projects, including mixed-use, commercial, residential, and other site development types. Your responsibilities will include performing engineering and project management tasks, preparing planning and design documents, and addressing client needs throughout the project lifecycle. You'll collaborate with other teams at Olsson, professional and technical staff, and clients, with possible travel to job sites for observations and client meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare planning and design documents pertinent to the engineering discipline.
- Conduct process design calculations, prepare cost estimates, and perform economic analyses for alternative comparisons.
- Assist in developing project scopes, schedules, and initiation paperwork, along with budget reviews and progress reporting.
- Coordinate projects with other teams, manage design aspects, direct team members on design tasks, and maintain project records.
- Support marketing and business development efforts, including proposal writing.
- Act as a project manager on smaller projects as needed.
- Independently handle assignments on complex projects.
- Oversee the work of junior staff and technical personnel, and potentially supervise students or technical staff.
