Qualifications

A degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience; HNC/HND may be acceptable. Familiarity with the design and implementation of Metering Computer and Software Systems (configuration and programming) and/or Control/Instrumentation systems design and build. Proficient in one or more of the following systems: Flow Computer & Supervisory; Emerson, Omni, FlowX, EXI, Honeywell (DCS/Metersuite), PLC, CiTECT, GeM. Experience working on multi-discipline engineering projects. General awareness and appreciation of the Oil & Gas industry, particularly in Metering Computing. Experience in a customer-facing role is preferred. Commercial and contractual awareness is advantageous but not essential. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and excellent communication skills in English.

About the job

As a Project Engineer specializing in Flow Computers, you will play a crucial role in interpreting customer specifications and requirements while adhering to applicable standards and engineering best practices. Your responsibilities will include the timely design and development of Flow Computer systems, Metering Supervisory Computer (MSC), or PLC programs/configurations, along with the generation of associated documentation. You will also engage in peer reviews and testing of your team members' work, particularly focusing on Metering computers, measurement, and control systems for Oil & Gas applications, with occasional on-site installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate assigned engineering tasks to produce and review contract SDRL documentation as per agreed timelines.
  • Generate project documentation in line with SDRL submission deadlines, including SBD, FDS, ATM, OMM, SAT, I&C Manual, Loop Diagrams, and more.
  • Develop or modify Metering Computer/Supervisory configurations as per qualifications and experience.
  • Oversee the technical execution of small projects when solely assigned.
  • Peer check outputs from team members to ensure technical accuracy within qualified areas.
  • Uphold Swinton design intent, interpret client specifications, and apply accepted engineering practices and code requirements for accurate technical output.
  • Ensure all approved documents are properly recorded and issued through document control processes.
  • Conduct client witness tests during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for metering computer systems.
  • Test metering computer systems according to approved procedures and acceptance test manuals.
  • Compile and accurately log all systems problem reports (SPR) into the Company’s central database.
  • Maintain strict change control for any client-requested variations, notifying the Lead Project Engineer/Manager prior to commencing work.
  • Engage in client/vendor meetings to align project goals.
  • Liaise with vendors on technical and project-related issues.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team in generating technical tenders and detailed comments on exceptions.
  • Exhibit leadership in promoting compliance with company quality and HS&E procedures.
  • Adhere to the Company’s standard operating procedures.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by the company.
