Role overview

The Quality Specialist (2nd Shift) works within the Quality Operations team in Los Angeles, CA. This position centers on hands-on inspections for aerospace and defense components, ensuring new parts and processes meet production standards. The role involves verifying both visual and mechanical quality, reviewing CMM reports, and managing nonconformance issues to support stable and capable manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) and provide feedback on new components.
  • Inspect bare and coated parts visually to confirm finish and appearance standards.
  • Carry out mechanical inspections using precision measurement tools.
  • Review and validate CMM (coordinate measuring machine) reports for compliance.
  • Draft, assess, and verify nonconformance reports (NCRs).
  • Triage and escalate out-of-tolerance conditions during production.
  • Prepare customer shipment documentation to ensure requirements are met.
  • Work with programmers, engineers, and technicians to maintain compliant production processes.
