Qualifications
Required Competencies & Skills- Education: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in hardware test engineering, product validation, or quality assurance for electromechanical or robotic systems.- Hardware Knowledge: Expertise in debugging electromechanical systems, including actuators, PCBs, cameras, wiring harnesses, and communication hardware.- Systems Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of the interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software components within robotic systems.- Software Knowledge: Basic scripting skills to comprehend robot testing code development in collaboration with the runtime/robot software team.- Data Analysis & Processing: Proficient in data processing tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python) for analysis and visualization.- Hands-on Skills: Ability to build test fixtures, perform diagnostics, and utilize standard laboratory equipment.

As a Robot Test Engineer, you play a pivotal role in ensuring the integration and performance of our expanding robotic fleet. You will engage with robotic systems at various development stages, from initial prototypes to fully operational units. Your responsibilities will include designing test systems and documentation, executing tests, and collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve any testing issues that may arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Process Development: Create and document effective testing processes for robotic systems.
- Test Setup Development: Construct and maintain test systems for robots and seek opportunities for test automation.
- Test Execution: Conduct functional, environmental, and reliability tests on robotic systems and components, gathering, analyzing, and reporting data for broad communication.
- Test Failure Investigation: Analyze test failures to identify root causes and collaborate with engineers to implement corrective actions.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Work closely with both hardware and software teams to ensure alignment on testing processes and resolve any issues encountered during testing.
