About the Role
As a Salesforce Technical Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional technical services and support to our clients. You will engage with a diverse range of innovative solutions across various organizations throughout New Zealand.
What You’ll Do
- Design, configure, and develop Salesforce solutions to effectively address real business challenges primarily through programmatic methods (Apex, Lightning Web Components).
- Translate client needs into comprehensive technical designs, data models, and integration architectures.
- Build and maintain integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs and platform events.
- Implement best practices for security, error handling, trigger development, and design patterns.
- Support the entire project lifecycle—from discovery workshops and solution design to testing, deployment, and go-live support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, architects, project managers, and client stakeholders.
- Contribute to our internal community of practice by sharing knowledge and assisting others in their professional growth.
- Engage directly with clients—conducting workshops, delivering presentations, and providing trusted advisory throughout engagements.
What You’ll Bring
To excel in this role, not only do you need to be exceptional at your craft, but your ability to communicate effectively with customers and within the team is crucial. At Datacom, we value collaboration, so your capacity to work well with others is essential. As a Salesforce Developer, you should possess over 2 years of hands-on experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM, ideally having worked with a variety of integration tools.
You will ideally have experience with:
- Proficiency in Apex, SOQL/SOSL, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, and Flows.
- Experience with Salesforce data management, migration, and integration patterns.
- Understanding of DevOps practices (Git, CI/CD, Salesforce DX).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- A strong willingness to learn, especially regarding new Salesforce products such as Agentforce.
