Cross River Ferry (CRF) is on the lookout for a dedicated, safety-oriented, and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of Ferry Driver / Engine Man / Deck-Hand on a part-time basis, with the potential for a transition to a full-time position.
This dynamic marine position involves a variety of responsibilities including operating the ferry, performing engineering tasks, and handling deck operations on our busy passenger and vehicle ferry service that runs between Glenbrook and Carrigaloe.
Key Responsibilities
Vessel Operation
Support the safe and efficient operation of the ferry service on a daily basis.
Operate the vessel in strict adherence to safety and operational protocols.
Ensure the utmost safety of passengers, crew, and vehicles at all times.
Keep accurate records of passenger and vehicle counts.
Engineering & Maintenance
Monitor fuel, oil, and water levels consistently.
Perform routine maintenance and safety inspections.
Check mooring ropes and related equipment for integrity.
Ensure a clean and safe environment onboard at all times.
Customer & Operational Duties
Assist passengers with safe boarding and disembarkation processes.
Oversee the safe loading of vehicles onto the ferry.
Issue and verify valid tickets for passengers.
Manage and reconcile cash float effectively.
Log and report any incidents accurately.
General Duties
Assist with fueling, boat maintenance, and other general tasks.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Prior marine experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
Relevant marine certifications are preferred but not essential.
