Qualifications

Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution. Possession of an Alaska PE license (or the ability to secure one within 12 months). Minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil/site development, ideally within Alaska or similar cold-region environments. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in editing specifications. Exceptional communication, leadership, and organizational abilities. Proven capability to inspire, motivate, and manage teams. Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple concurrent projects. Preferred Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of residency in Alaska. Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and lead team members. Project management experience and/or PMP certification. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Familiarity with GIS and permitting processes (e.g., ADEC, municipal codes). Knowledge of sustainable site design and low-impact development principles.

RESPEC is on the lookout for a highly skilled Senior Civil Project Engineer at our Anchorage, AK office. In this pivotal role, you will engage directly with clients and collaborate closely with team members to devise innovative solutions to a range of challenges unique to Alaska. Our Land Development team undertakes an array of site and infrastructure design projects, guiding them from inception through planning, design, and construction support for diverse public and private clients throughout Alaska.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee civil design activities for land development projects, encompassing site grading, roadway configurations, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.
  • Draft and evaluate engineering plans, technical reports, specifications, and financial estimates.
  • Facilitate coordination with clients, permitting authorities, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, timelines, and deliverables effectively.
  • Mentor Engineers in Training (EITs) and junior staff, promoting their technical growth and professional development.
  • Contribute to business development through proposal crafting and client engagement initiatives.
  • Present design concepts during public forums and client meetings as needed.
