About the job
Red 6 is a pioneering startup in the Augmented Reality (AR) sector, transforming synthetic air combat training. Our flagship technology underpins the ATARS product, allowing pilots to engage in realistic, scalable training simulations that replicate the cognitive challenges of flying in dynamic outdoor settings.
The Role
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Frontend Software Engineer to bolster our vibrant team in Santa Monica, CA. This pivotal role involves creating applications for operators and instructors that drive our ATARS augmented reality system, seamlessly integrating synthetic, threat-relevant training into real flights for fighter pilots.
Your primary focus will be on developing desktop applications that facilitate the planning and configuration of AR training scenarios, as well as debriefing ATARS flights. You will craft real-time user interfaces that enhance training operations by visualizing live system states, managing scenario controls, and executing telemetry visualizations, including post-flight review and replay workflows.
In addition to core frontend engineering tasks, such as optimizing performance, enhancing accessibility, and ensuring maintainable UI architecture, you will also help integrate LLM-driven functionalities, focusing on creating trustworthy copilot user experiences, guided workflows, approval mechanisms, and transparent output processes. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust, mission-critical software that supports advanced pilot training systems.
