Qualifications:Proven ability to maintain high volume and quality in a fast-paced environment. Experience managing a team of over 50 associates with a demonstrated history of employee development. Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in addressing urgent operational challenges through root cause analysis. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. A minimum of 8 years of management experience in an automotive or lean manufacturing setting. Possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past 3 years. Fluency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform frequent physical activities such as stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling in varying environmental conditions. Familiarity with personal protective equipment including face shields, goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, and masks is required.

About the job

As a Senior Operations Manager at Carvana, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing multiple reconditioning lines, ensuring that production metrics are consistently achieved and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise multiple reconditioning lines within the Inspection & Reconditioning Center (IC), effectively planning production for the entirety of each working shift.
  • Take full responsibility for facility management in the absence of the General Manager, ensuring that production, cost, and quality targets are met or exceeded.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks impacting site throughput and efficiency through root cause analysis, developing actionable plans in collaboration with site leadership and team members.
  • Conduct weekly performance reviews with Senior Reconditioning leadership, focusing on performance against targets, challenges encountered, and effective countermeasures.
  • Lead daily site manager meetings to set the day's priorities and objectives.
  • Assist in the implementation of Continuous Improvement initiatives at your location and potentially across the region/network, while also providing training on process changes.
  • Support the growth and development of Reconditioning Leads and Managers by facilitating Development Plans and providing ongoing competency-based feedback.
  • Exemplify Carvana’s core values through effective leadership, teamwork, and communication on the shop floor.
  • Adhere to Carvana's operational standards and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
