Role Overview

As a Senior Security Engineer on GitLab's Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), you will be instrumental in safeguarding GitLab.com and our expansive GitLab ecosystem from dynamic security threats. This position also supports our FedRAMP environment and requires U. S. citizenship and residency within the United States. You will lead significant incidents and investigations, promote ongoing enhancements in our defense, detection, and response capabilities, and assist in scaling our security operations through automation and intelligent workflows.

Operating within a 24/7 global framework (follow-the-sun model), you will manage incidents from detection and triage to containment, eradication, and recovery, collaborating cross-functionally to bolster GitLab’s security posture.

A pivotal aspect of this role is the utilization of automation and AI-driven methodologies to enhance detection accuracy, expedite investigations, and minimize response times. You will influence the application of modern tools and data to stay ahead of evolving adversary tactics.
