Role Overview
The Senior Software Quality Assurance Manager leads quality assurance transformation for a valued client. This role manages a team of QA professionals and works closely with Customer Support, Product, and Development teams to ensure high standards for software delivery. The position focuses on strengthening defect prevention, reducing customer-reported issues, and making testing cycles more efficient while maintaining thorough coverage. Experience with QA methodologies, test automation, CI/CD, and integrating generative AI into QA processes is important. Candidates with a strong track record in building and scaling QA teams are encouraged to apply.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the evolution of current quality assurance practices.
- Manage and mentor a team of 5 or more QA professionals, setting clear standards for product quality ownership.
- Work with Customer Support to review support tickets, identify recurring issues, and address quality gaps.
- Partner with Product and Development teams to evaluate requirements from the perspective of customer impact.
- Advance defect prevention strategies, not just detection.
- Drive a measurable decrease in repeat customer-reported issues.
- Shorten testing cycles for faster delivery without sacrificing quality or coverage.
- Share findings and trends from customer data with QA teams to inform improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- At least 7 years in software quality assurance, including 5 years in a QA/QC/Test Manager position.
- Proven experience building and scaling QA teams, covering recruitment, mentoring, and performance management.
- Strong background in test automation and exploratory testing.
- Thorough understanding of CI/CD processes and the modern software development lifecycle.
- Expertise in defect management and overseeing release processes.
- Ability to strategically evaluate and guide the use of generative AI in QA workflows.
- Demonstrated success in improving customer-perceived quality.
- Experience setting QA metrics and driving gains in efficiency, automation, and product quality.
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. English proficiency at upper-intermediate level or above is required.
