QualificationsA minimum of 8 years of experience in designing electromechanical actuators. Expertise in motors, servo drives, and motion sensors. Proven experience with precision motion mechanisms such as force/displacement amplification, mechanical linkages, and motion transmission systems. Proficient in modeling mechanical behaviors (e.g., stiffness, losses, backlash) using MATLAB/Simulink. Experience with PCBA integration and wiring harness design. Strong understanding of material properties, heat treatment, statics, and dynamics. Familiarity with control strategies and firmware implementation. Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in electric mobility.

Your Role

  • Lead the design, development, and testing of electromechanical actuators and motor-driven systems for our lightweight electric vehicle platforms.

  • Prepare comprehensive drawing packages and manufacturing guidelines for mechanical components and assemblies.

  • Conduct 3D modeling of various components and assemblies, including die castings, injection-molded plastics, sheet metals, and fasteners.

  • Collaborate closely with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of PCBAs, wiring harnesses, and electronic systems into mechanical designs.

  • Work alongside firmware engineers to confirm that physical systems are compatible with robust control and integrate smoothly with embedded software.

  • Oversee validation processes with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

  • Develop and implement design verification plans and reports (DVP&R).

  • Conduct and maintain design failure mode and effects analyses (DFMEAs).

  • Prototype and iterate designs through hands-on fabrication and lab testing to ensure functionality and performance.
