Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve intricate customer issues related to the Databricks Platform by analyzing core component metrics and logs.
Offer suggestions and best practice guidance to enhance performance in customer-specific environments, while providing feedback for product enhancements.
Assist the support team by creating detailed troubleshooting guides and runbooks.
Contribute to automation and tooling initiatives to streamline daily troubleshooting processes.
Collaborate with the engineering team to promote awareness of upcoming features and releases.
Identify and contribute to supportability features within the product.
Exhibit ownership and coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to ensure timely resolution of customer issues and requests.
Participate in weekend and weekday on-call rotations.
Qualifications:
12+ years of professional experience in the industry.
Demonstrated experience in supporting Java, Scala, or Python-based applications.
Proficient in scripting with Python or Shell.
Skilled in black box troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience in resolving issues within a “Distributed Big Data Computing” environment.
Familiarity with SQL-based database systems.
Required experience in Linux and network troubleshooting.
Knowledgeable in services related to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

As a Backline Technical Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customers succeed with the Databricks platform by resolving critical technical escalations and collaborating closely with the frontline support team. You will act as the technical liaison between support and engineering, serving as the first line of defense for engineering. Your expertise will ensure that all issues are thoroughly vetted before they are escalated to the engineering team. You will report directly to the Manager of the Backline Engineering Team.
