Role overview

The Senior Strategy Engineer acts as a connector between Rivian, Volkswagen Group Technologies (RVTech) software and electrical teams, and VW Group organizations. This role shapes strategic plans that support the commissioning, launch, and scaling of software-driven systems across VW Group brands. Operating with a high degree of independence, the Senior Strategy Engineer ensures clear communication and execution for commissioning, diagnostics, and compliance activities. A focus on process optimization and the integration of advanced technologies into both vehicle and manufacturing systems is central to this position.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and define integration strategies and roadmaps for manufacturing, diagnostics, and ECU software across VW Group brands, ensuring alignment with software delivery timelines from Rivian and VWGT.
  • Serve as the main point of contact between manufacturing and engineering teams at VW Group and Rivian/VWGT, translating commissioning and compliance needs into technical requirements and schedules.
  • Prepare teams with a comprehensive overview of brand requirements before build and testing phases, supporting operational readiness and helping to prevent last-minute issues.
  • Assess and improve manufacturing and diagnostic workflows for software-enabled operations, identifying challenges and working with teams to implement structured solutions.
  • Collaborate with software and diagnostics teams to manage, prioritize, and resolve integration issues, ensuring the correct software configurations and diagnostic tools are in place.
