Job Description
Join our dynamic Omen team at the Costa Mesa headquarters as a Senior Systems Engineer. The Omen is Anduril’s autonomous air vehicle (AAV) that seamlessly combines the endurance, payload capacity, and mission versatility of significantly larger aircraft into a unique runway-independent Group 3 platform. Capable of launching from ship decks, beaches, or remote island clearings, the Omen facilitates true operational flexibility across both defense and civilian applications. As the first tail-sitter aircraft to secure a mass-production contract, with an initial order of 50 systems, Omen represents a strategic investment that solidifies our production capabilities and accelerates the development of future innovations.
You will play a pivotal role in aircraft development within a lean, high-ownership culture, allowing you to directly influence product outcomes and achieve rapid flight testing of new designs within months.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Implement an Agile Systems Engineering approach aligned with the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) for the swift development of the Omen capabilities.
- Collaborate with design teams to advance and refine Technical Performance Measures (TPMs) throughout the design lifecycle.
- Participate in System Design Reviews (SDR) and engineering governance frameworks, such as Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), and Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), representing the Systems Engineering discipline.
- Maintain and oversee Functional Decomposition, System Breakdown Structure (SBS), Product Breakdown Structure (PBS), and Architecture diagrams.
- Generate essential Systems Engineering design documents, including System Description Documents (SDDs) and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Promote the utilization of the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) to facilitate system maturation.
- Contribute to the design of representative Hardware In Lab (HIL) and Hardware In The Loop (HITL) integration environments, and assist in surrogate testing initiatives.
