About the job
Join Databricks as a Senior Technical Product Manager where you'll collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and technical field organizations to create exceptional user experiences through innovative features.
In this role, you will concentrate on one of two vital product areas:
OLTP Databases
Contribute to the evolution of our transactional database capabilities, ensuring they meet the performance, reliability, and scalability demands of modern applications and AI-driven agents.
Data Governance
Play a key role in ensuring effective governance of data assets, enabling secure access, compliance, and visibility across the organization. This includes supporting AI-driven use cases, like agent-based access through MCP or similar technologies.
Your responsibility will be to thoroughly understand both functional and non-functional requirements, such as performance, scalability, security, and compliance, and how customers currently meet these challenges. You will assess the implementation of these workloads on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Acting as a liaison between technical field teams and product and engineering, you will use insights from customer PoCs, benchmarks, and real-world applications to inform product decisions and ensure effective communication of product improvements back to the field.
Your Impact
- Identify and drive meaningful product enhancements in your area of expertise.
- Establish and execute performance benchmarks (focusing on OLTP) or governance best practices and reference architectures (focusing on governance).
- Shape and prioritize a significant product roadmap.
- Support go-to-market strategies and facilitate product adoption.
- For governance focus: Develop processes and mechanisms for how AI agents can securely and compliantly access the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
What We Seek
- 5+ years of robust technical experience.
- A strong sense of empathy for customers across the full spectrum of Data Platform users.
- Deep domain expertise in one of the following areas:
- Transactional databases (OLTP), cloud-native databases, or distributed systems.
- Data governance practices.
