About the job

‍ What We Do at Emidat ‍

At Emidat, we are pioneering the world's first climate-native product management system tailored for building material manufacturers. Our mission is to decarbonize building materials, which account for 11% of global greenhouse gas emissions. We gather data from real-world production processes, create a digital product passport with verified environmental data, and ensure its accessibility along the value chain. In essence, we provide a comprehensive solution to evaluate, design, purchase, sell, and manage products while centering environmental impact.

By doing so, we are establishing the digital framework that facilitates a quicker, simpler, and more sustainable approach to building the world around us.

Your Mission

As a Software Engineer, you will develop cutting-edge software for environmental impact assessment in manufacturing. Your expertise will aid building material manufacturers in understanding their environmental footprint, transforming production data into lifecycle assessments across various product categories, and generating environmental product declarations compliant with diverse countries and standards. Each calculation needs to be traceable and auditable.

This role involves translating environmental science and ISO/EN standards into maintainable software systems. You'll be making tangible climate impact while navigating fascinating technical challenges.

First 6 Months Goals

  • Develop features that significantly benefit our customers, guiding manufacturers in evaluating their environmental performance from inception to iterative feedback.

  • Broaden our lifecycle assessment (LCA) and environmental product declaration (EPD) capabilities to encompass more product categories and regional markets.

  • Collaborate closely with our LCA specialists to convert complex environmental standards into clear software abstractions.

Our Technology Stack:

  • Programming Languages: Python, TypeScript

  • Backend Frameworks: FastAPI, gRPC

  • Frontend Framework: React

  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis

  • Infrastructure: Docker, AWS

About Emidat
