Your Responsibilities:Design and implement importance sampling techniques to enhance the output of our evaluation pipelines using fewer resources. Analyze logs and simulations to identify signals that can lead to the more efficient discovery of rare and significant events. Create systems that systematically optimize multiple objectives while adhering to resource limitations. Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, statisticians, and leadership to develop evaluation products and support data-driven decision-making. Promote code quality and best practices within a large and complex codebase. Your Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Proficiency in probability and statistics. Strong self-motivation and ability to work through complex systems and open-ended problems to their conclusion.2-3 years of experience with:Modifying and navigating a large codebase in languages such as C++, Python, and SQL. Conducting statistical analyses. Building data processing pipelines. Writing, reviewing, and merging code following industry standards for code quality and maintainability.

We construct automated pipelines to identify rare and exceptional scenarios in autonomous driving, effectively searching for critical insights under limited time and resource constraints. Within Release Evaluation, the Sampling and Efficiency team employs advanced importance sampling techniques combined with machine learning to maximize the statistical efficiency of our discovery pipelines.
