Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of impactful hybrid quantum applications, algorithms, and solutions within the life sciences sector, focusing on delivering commercial value in practice and at scale. Collaborate with quantum compiler, cloud, and hardware engineering teams to produce highly optimized hybrid workflows for trapped-ion quantum computers. Provide insights on classical and quantum domain-specific algorithms and tools, assessing and communicating their advantages, limitations, current best practices, scalability, and trade-offs. Facilitate constructive technical interactions with client teams to identify, define, and address real-world challenges using IonQ's trapped-ion quantum technology. Represent the team in client and stakeholder presentations, crafting presentation content tailored to diverse audiences. Develop reusable software platforms to expand IonQ's user base, integrating pioneering quantum algorithms into comprehensive workflows. Qualifications:PhD in a life sciences discipline or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 3 years of experience in developing and utilizing computational and ML/AI tools in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and advanced therapeutic development, along with a demonstrated history of peer-reviewed publications and contributions to code repositories. At least 3 years of experience in the quantum computing space.
