Our ambitious mission is to construct the world's first fusion power plant, paving the way for a future filled with limitless clean electricity. We envision a world where energy is clean, reliable, and accessible to everyone.

Since our inception in 2013, Helion has successfully raised over $1 billion from esteemed investors, including Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group, along with new partners such as SoftBank and Lightspeed, to drive our progress. Our latest prototype, Trenta, achieved 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). We are currently advancing with Polaris, our next prototype on the journey to realizing the first fusion power plant.

Joining Helion now means becoming part of a pivotal team dedicated to solving real-world challenges. We are a collective that values urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to transparency—qualities that are essential in pioneering a new era in energy. Together, we can transform the future of energy because the world cannot afford to wait.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will collaborate closely with suppliers to optimize the production of components for our fusion generators. Your role will involve addressing technical challenges, enhancing our suppliers’ quality systems, and facilitating Helion's transition from rapid prototyping to large-scale generator manufacturing, thus furthering our mission to deliver clean energy to the globe. This position requires you to be onsite and will report directly to the Senior Manager of Electrical Engineering at our Everett, WA facility.

Your Contributions Will Include:

  • Collaborating with design engineers to fully understand the design intent of parts, assemblies, and subsystems.
  • Evaluating suppliers’ manufacturing processes and quality systems to source components in conjunction with the procurement team.
  • Supporting the product ramp from new product introduction to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Defining technical and quality specifications for suppliers based on engineering and program requirements.
  • Implementing and overseeing the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with selected suppliers to promote efficient production.
  • Ensuring suppliers comprehend submission requirements for documentation (e.g., first article inspection reports, quality documentation).
  • Developing and approving process controls for critical characteristics.
  • Recommending technical product enhancements to mitigate risks and minimize potential defects.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and innovation.
