Bridge Design Engineer – Leeds
Roughan & O’Donovan is excited to invite applications for the role of Bridge Design Engineer. We are looking for a talented engineer with at least three years of relevant experience to join our growing UK team on a permanent basis.
Role Overview
In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the design and execution of our bridge and multidisciplinary projects. You will collaborate with our teams across the UK and Ireland, ensuring successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Engage in the design of both existing and new bridge and civil structures, utilizing a variety of materials and forms, including superstructures, substructures, and articulation elements.
Contribute to the initial phases of projects, which encompasses scoping, specifying, and analyzing surveys, inspection, and investigative works, as well as optioneering and scheme design.
Conduct detailed design work, encompassing modeling, calculations, and supervision of drawing production.
Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, specifications, and contract documents.
Perform independent design checks and provide support during the construction phase.
Collaborate effectively with clients, including local and national authorities, consultants, and design & build contractors.
