Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.3-5 years of relevant experience in a cost management role within the construction industry. RICS accreditation or progress towards it is advantageous. Experience supporting cost management on medium to large construction projects is essential. Construction consultancy experience is highly preferred. Solid understanding of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering. Excellent communication skills are required.

Join Our Team at Turner & Townsend! We are seeking a skilled Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to enhance our construction cost services for esteemed clients in Las Vegas. The right candidate will embody our core values and drive our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to clients on strategies, overseeing vendor prequalification, evaluating bids and proposals, leading bid interviews, and managing the entire appointment process.
  • Oversee comprehensive estimating services by generating project estimates covering construction, fees, and other costs, reviewing junior team members' estimations, presenting to clients, and conducting value engineering and risk assessments.
  • Establish and manage cost reporting protocols, reviewing and presenting detailed cost reports and forecasts, and maintaining a commercial risk register while facilitating project team meetings.
  • Control costs by assessing payment applications, collaborating with project managers on contractor entitlements, reviewing change order requests, and employing dispute resolution techniques.
  • Ensure meticulous management of the invoicing process and benchmark performance against other successful projects.
  • Lead the final accounting process and post-contract audits, including lessons learned sessions with clients to improve future project delivery.
  • Develop and implement procedures for project handovers.
  • Utilize Bid Analysis Sheets, Change Control Forms, Cost Estimating Software, and Take-off Software to perform all duties efficiently.
  • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities as applicable.
