They will work in various locations on the vessel including the galley, factory, freezer hold, deck, or at nearby docks during offload or backload.Primary Responsibilities: Assistant Cooks are expected to:Prepare and assist in the preparation of food items in adequate quantities as directed by the Cook.Support the Cook in ensuring that meals and snacks are served punctually according to crew schedules.Maintain a hygienic working environment in accordance with food safety standards.Regularly clean and sanitize all food preparation, storage, and serving areas.Enforce personal hygiene practices in compliance with food handling regulations.Perform housekeeping duties as instructed, including laundry and cleaning of restrooms.Work Schedule: Typical work hours are 16.5 hours per day, 7 days a week.Work hours may be extended during offloading or backloading, resulting in irregular shifts and sleep patterns.Breaks will be determined by the operational needs of the fish processing plant; unplanned breaks are not permitted unless related to health or safety incidents.Work Environment: Employees will operate in extremely remote and austere locations, often days away from land or dock facilities.Protective clothing is mandatory while performing the job duties.
