Role overview
This freelance position combines electrical engineering expertise with Python programming for AI training projects. Work is remote, based in Porto, Porto District, Portugal. Contributors handle a variety of engineering and programming assignments, with each project bringing its own requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Design engineering challenges that mirror real-world workflows
- Create Python programming tasks for calculations and simulations
- Develop computationally intensive problems using numerical methods or iterative techniques
- Build challenges involving system design, optimization, and analysis
- Use authentic research problems or practical scenarios as the basis for tasks
- Validate solutions with Python and common engineering libraries
- Document problem statements clearly and provide verified solutions
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with tools such as MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, or SciPy
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience, including applied research or teaching
- Understanding of real-world engineering constraints and approximations
- Strong written English skills (C1 level or higher)
- Professional certifications (such as CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are a plus

Time commitment
During active project phases, expect to spend about 10–20 hours per week. Actual workload depends on project needs and is not guaranteed outside these periods.
Compensation
Earn up to $31 per hour, depending on expertise and task completion rate. Actual pay may vary by project based on scope, complexity, and required skills.
