The Fort Worth City Attorney’s Office is a team-oriented group of legal professionals who provide a wide range of legal services to city departments. The office handles civil and criminal matters, including general counsel, litigation, and prosecution. Attorneys here see the direct results of their work reflected in the community. Mentorship and in-house training are central to the office culture, supporting both career growth and a respectful, diverse environment.
Role Overview: Assistant City Attorney II
This position works closely with departments such as Real Property Management, the Water Department, and Transportation & Public Works. The city’s rapid growth brings a steady demand for property acquisitions to support projects like new roads, sidewalks, water and sewer systems, and parks. Most acquisitions are negotiated with property owners, but some require the use of eminent domain. The office seeks a lawyer with experience in condemnation to help manage these property transactions.
