About CHRS and Its Mission
CHRS in Marseille offers emergency accommodation for young adults aged 18 to 25 who are experiencing instability and vulnerability. Referrals come through the 115 service. Many residents have faced significant disruptions in their lives and receive comprehensive support to help them regain independence and reintegrate into society.
Role Overview: Civic Volunteer
As a civic volunteer, the focus is on supporting young people navigating housing insecurity and social or family breakdowns. The community hosts up to 99 residents. Volunteers contribute directly to their social development and help foster autonomy within a supportive group setting.
Main Responsibilities
- Work alongside the social worker team to organize group activities for young residents, with a strong emphasis on cultural, sports, and community life.
- Help plan and run events such as concerts, exhibitions, debates, neighborhood festivals, and performances.
- Participate in welcoming the public, opening and maintaining shared spaces, and establishing regular group activities.
- Assist in creating and leading activity cycles focused on health prevention and citizenship awareness.
- Support initiatives that improve access to culture and sports for residents.
- Help young adults with administrative tasks and paperwork as needed.
All activities are carried out in collaboration with professional facilitators and the association's staff.
