Role Overview: Staff Accountant

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full time
Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000

MedElite is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its Brooklyn-based team. This role supports a growing healthcare organization dedicated to serving the post-acute care population. The Staff Accountant maintains financial records, supports closing processes, and works closely with accounting, payroll, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate financial data. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and offers the chance to contribute to impactful projects, with room for career growth as the company expands. The role is primarily in-office, with some flexibility as needed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out month-end closing tasks: prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconcile accounts such as prepaids, fixed assets, and payroll to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Handle daily bank feeds and record cash transactions promptly.
  • Invoice customers, match billings to contracts, and follow up on overdue invoices to support timely collections.
  • Assist the accounts payable contractor with invoice entry and payment processing.
